Hi! I’m Maggie

Hey, there! I’m Maggie Marshall-Sloan, thanks for checking me out! I’m an ocean loving, Nova Scotian girl, transplanted in land locked Alberta. I initially moved here for love, and have since built a family, found an amazing community, and now proudly call Leduc my home.

I created this business with the intentions of making new connections, helping others, and finding a purpose for myself as something other than ‘mom’ & ‘wife’.

I have 25 years of combined experience in the customer service industry; including, retail management, administration, and running a successful at home business. Additionally, I have an education in entrepreneurship & small business management.

I crave and thrive off of connection, and helping others is what brings me joy!

How it began…

‘Hold the Door’ was an idea that came to me in 2019 while shopping for a birthday gift for my son's little buddy. I wondered if people would pay for services like shopping, delivery, and even gift wrapping? From there my idea came to life. I've spent the last year curating the "perfect" business idea, essentially wanting to be your 'right hand gal'. I found my business name from the notion of holding the door for someone, this simple act of kindness that could take someone's day from upside down to suddenly feeling altogether better.
